Simon Lakey @ Work
Simon Lakey has almost 20 years experience in the audio visual and home integration industry specialising in design, sales and project management. Simon has personally worked with some of Australia’s leading architects, designers and integrators with many award winning projects being featured in leading publications.
A move into architectural building design saw Simon become a senior designer with one of Australia’s leading home builders. With a passion for design and the effective use and integration of technology, Simon returned to the technology industry in roles that utilise his experience, creativity and vision.
Simon’s marketing vision was recently recognised by winning the CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) Australasian industry award for best website (IntegratedTechnologiesAustralia.com.au) two years in a row.
As an active contributor within the technology industry, Simon is a regular presenter and instructor at industry events. Simon’s experience and reputation has recently seen him contracted by a number of businesses and companies to implement effective business development strategies, marketing plans and media consultation.
Simon currently consults to a number of architects, designers, builders, integrators, suppliers and industry associations providing unbiased advice on improving people lifestyle with technology.
With a passion for cycling, Simon formed 602nds.com, an online project providing interviews, reviews and information to cycling fans internationally. Media accreditation to professional events such as the Tour Down Under in Adelaide and the upcoming UCI World Cycling Championships in Melbourne/Geelong are a credit to the work and impression Simon with 602nds provides to the cycling world.

When not at work Simon is an avid basketball fan. After coaching a number of junior Blackburn and Nunawading Vikings representative teams, Simon now coaches an U17 Whitehorse Mustangs team in the local EDJBA competition. Simon follows the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA and the Melbourne Tigers in the Australian NBL.
In the winter months Simon supports the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) in the hope that the team will once again become successful after spending too many years close to the bottom of the competition ladder.
With an interest in keeping fit and feeling alive, Simon is passionate about cycling and can be seen riding the roads of the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Simon can also be found mastering the singletracks of Victorian bushlands on his mountain bike.
July is spent with sleepless nights following the Tour de France in the hope that an Australian will wear the yellow jersey.
